Reading and Learning for Reconciliation: Truth & Reconciliation Commission Reading Circle
Join a Reading Circle to explore the Executive Summary of the Final Report of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada, Honouring the Truth, Reconciling for the Future. Over five monthly sessions, participants will read and discuss the report together, creating an opportunity for reflection and learning about the experiences of survivors, families, and communities affected by the residential school system.
The first session takes place Tuesday, September 8, with additional sessions on October 13, November 10, December 8, and January 12.
Reading Circle Options
Participants can choose from two session times:
12:00–1:30 PM
5:30–7:00 PM
Both Reading Circles will be held in Classroom 1 at the Kelowna Branch of the Okanagan Regional Library, 1380 Ellis Street.
Pre-registration through Eventbrite is required. Once registered, participants will receive information about picking up a copy of the Executive Summary. Sandwiches will be provided at each session.
This Reading Circle is hosted by Métis Community Services Society of BC, with support from the City of Kelowna and Okanagan Regional Library: Kelowna Branch.
