New Baby Talk Parenting Group Launches in Kelowna This May

A new free drop-in parenting group, Baby Talk, is launching this May in Kelowna through a partnership between the YMCA and Interior Health.


Designed for caregivers with infants aged 0–12 months, Baby Talk offers a welcoming space to connect with other parents, share experiences, and receive reliable support during the first year of parenting. Sessions are facilitated by Public Health Nurses, providing families with the opportunity to ask questions and learn about infant development, parenting, and family wellbeing.


Program Details

  • When: First and third Monday of each month | 10:30–11:30 AM

  • Where: Kelowna Family YMCA, 375 Hartman Road, Kelowna

  • Cost: Free

  • Registration: Drop-in, no registration required


Topics Throughout the Year Include

  • Growth and development

  • Introducing solid foods

  • Infant sleep

  • Injury prevention

  • Speech and language

  • Healthy babies and common childhood illness

  • Self-care and resilience for parents

  • Childcare and navigating healthcare systems
