Summary:
This clinic position is for 2-4 days, taking over either one or two part-time family practices of two days each. Each of these practices has an established panel of patients, ranging from babies to the elderly.
Our patient encounters are typically in-clinic or telehealth, but can include visits to long term care, hospice, house calls and convalescent care, at the discretion of the physician. While the physician must be available to be in-clinic for some portion of the patient care, telehealth visits could either be done from the clinic or at another location of the physician’s choosing.
The clinic has a registered nurse, funded by the health authority, who is available to assist with management of early maternity care, complex and chronic care patient needs, dressings, injections and other appropriate care needs of patients. We also have a clinic-funded License Practical Nurse who rooms patients, does wart cryotherapy, suture and staple removal, dressings and injections. The front desk is staffed by 1-2 Medical Office Assistants. We have excellent staff, and our clinic is well-organized and well-run.
The physicians share after-hours call, which would on average be about a week a month. The call is telephone-based, and not onerous. It is common to get no calls during a call period.
The physicians are all co-owners of the clinic, which is located in a two-storey mixed commercial and residential building with an on-site parking lot. We are looking for a physician who is interested in becoming a part owner of the clinic, but we are happy to mentor or share patient care initially.
